Over the past four days, our team has had the incredible privilege of participating in Formula Student Germany (FSG), an event that has challenged and inspired us in ways we never thought possible. As we look back on this whirlwind experience, we are filled with a mixture of pride, excitement, and a touch of bittersweet nostalgia as we bid farewell to an unforgettable year.

Friday was a day dedicated to the other two static events: Cost & Manufacturing and Engineering Design Report. Having improved our presentations based on the invaluable feedback we received during FSN, we felt a sense of accomplishment despite being first-timers in these static events. We were grateful for the new tips we received, which we’re excited to pass on to future team members. Friday was also the day where the infamous panorama picture was taken, capturing the competitive spirit of all the student teams.

Saturday brought a fresh wave of enthusiasm and attention for our hydrogen race car. Engaging in conversations with other teams, exchanging insights and ideas, fueled our passion even further. As we observed the dynamic events of other teams, we started dreaming about our very own hydrogen car racing across similar terrain next year. The evening led us to the mesmerizing Drone Light Show in Heidelberg, an unforgettable spectacle of 200 drones painting the night sky with vibrant lights.

Sunday marked the realization that FSG, and consequently our entire year’s journey, was drawing to a close. We started packing up our pit, breaking down tents at the camping site, and reminiscing about the incredible memories we had created. The day, and thus the week, ended with a grand closing ceremony and a celebratory party, where we let loose and enjoyed each other’s company.

Monday morning brought an early rise, as we started dismantling our camp and packing up our equipment. With efficiency and teamwork, we swiftly completed these tasks and loaded everything onto the Heisterkamp truck. As we hit the road back to Enschede, we couldn’t help but reflect on the journey we had just completed – a journey that had pushed us to our limits and revealed our strengths.

As we wrap up our Formula Student adventure, we’re not just turning the page, but passing on the torch. The coming two weeks will be dedicated to sharing our experiences, fine-tuning the lessons we’ve learned, and ensuring that the incoming team is set up for success. This year has been a roller coaster, filled with challenges, victories, and most importantly, learning experiences. The new bonds we’ve formed, the skills honed, and the memories we created will forever remain in our hearts. This journey has been more than just engineering and racing; it’s been about growth, friendship, and embracing the thrill of innovation. We are immensely thankful for the opportunity to be part of Green Team Twente.
