Hi! My name is Matthias Haalstra. I just finished my bachelor Technical Medicine. This year I took a gap year to do something else. Therefore, I will take up the challenge as Team Manager of Green Team Twente. For me it is a great challenge to develop a strategy to reach our goals and make the individual members function as a team! I’m excited to devote this year to sustainable mobility, because I think it’s of critical relevance in the upcoming years. At the same time, I will develop skills which are incomparable to the skills I learned during my study. I am excited to work with the team and I hope that, in the end, we all will be proud of what we have accomplished this year, which would be crowned with winning the Race!
Joram van der Linde
Finance and operations
Hey all, my name is Joram van der Linde and I am the Finance & Operations manager for this year. After obtaining my bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering last summer, I was ready for a new challenge: joining a great student team for a year full of challenges, acquiring knowledge, developing myself and ofcourse fun! The reason I chose Green Team Twente, is because of how enthusiastic people work together for a full year, striving for the first place at the Shell Eco-Marathon and thereby contributing to the green world of the future.
Hi there! My name is Koen Heemskerk and I recently started my Masters in Industrial Design Engineering. Since a few years, I wanted to take a gap year and do something else than studying. In 2017 I came across Green Team Twente and I was interested in this team immediately and its alternative energy source in mobility. As a Technical Manager I get to be involved in all the new and innovative technical projects that happen within the team. My goal is to coordinate the technical team and keep everybody headed to the main technical goal; create a reliable, prize-winning racing car!
Hi! My name is Gidde Tuitert and I will take on the role of Communications Manager this year. I finished the bachelor of Civil Engineering and after 6 months abroad I started my masters in Water Management. As everything was quite technical during my bachelor, I really wanted to do something different. Sustainability (in the mobility area but also in other areas) has always really appealed to me, as the time to act is slowly running out. For this reason I joined Green Team’s communication department. I hope I’ll learn a lot of skills outside of my normal field this year and that I can contribute my share of making the world just a bit better.
